The Province of Buenos Aires took this measure after the actress shared footage showing her with part of her body outside the vehicle and without a seatbelt while the footballer was driving.
Mauro Icardi was preventively suspended from driving by the Buenos Aires Province Ministry of Transport after it was confirmed that his license had expired. The measure came to light following the release of a video posted by Eugenia “China” Suárez, in which the actress is seen leaning part of her body out of the window while the vehicle was in motion.
The footage was shared by Suárez herself on her social media channels. The clip shows her unbuckling her seatbelt, climbing up to the window, and extending a large part of her body outside the vehicle’s cabin while Icardi remains at the wheel without stopping.
The Undersecretariat for Road Safety and Policy, part of the provincial Ministry of Transport, noted that the driver is responsible for ensuring the safety of the vehicle’s occupants and third parties. In this regard, they criticized the fact that Icardi continued driving during the maneuver.
Following the video’s release, authorities checked the driver’s status and confirmed that Icardi’s license was expired at the time of the incident. This situation led to the preventive suspension.
The measure was ordered by the Undersecretariat for Road Safety and Policy under Provincial Law No. 13.927 and was officially recorded on September 21, 2025.
Since Icardi resides in the province of Buenos Aires, he must apply for a new license through the appropriate jurisdiction. Before regaining his license, he will have to undergo an evaluation to determine if he is psychologically fit to drive.
The Ministry of Transport emphasized that the person behind the wheel must ensure the safety of everyone traveling in the vehicle as well as anyone who might be affected by its operation.
