MotoGP Returns to Buenos Aires in 2027 with the Renovated Gálvez Circuit

The premier class of motorcycle racing will compete from April 9 to 11, 2027, at the Oscar and Juan Gálvez Circuit, where renovation work has already surpassed the 60% completion mark.

MotoGP is set to return to Buenos Aires after a 28-year hiatus, with the dates now confirmed. The premier international motorcycle racing series will race from April 9 to 11, 2027, at the renovated Oscar and Juan Gálvez Circuit, marking the fourth round of the world championship.

This return signals a new era for the historic Buenos Aires circuit, which is currently undergoing comprehensive remodeling. According to official reports, construction is more than 60% complete and includes track modifications, new pit garages, access points, and spectator areas.

There is also significant anticipation regarding the event’s impact. Initial estimates from city authorities and organizers suggest that around 150,000 people could attend the race, generating a direct economic impact of nearly US$140 million for the City of Buenos Aires.

What the new circuit will look like
The layout for the Gálvez circuit has already been finalized. One of the key changes is the construction of a new hairpin turn, located in the area previously occupied by a grandstand and the karting track.

This modification was designed to enable the circuit to host MotoGP, but it is also part of the work required to bring the track up to Formula 1 standards.

Just a few meters from Turn 1, construction is also progressing on a new tunnel that will connect Roca Avenue to the paddock and alter internal traffic flow within the complex.
